Susanna & Aaron came to us with a tight timeline and a lot of creative ideas. We had about 5 months to pull this epic wedding together. It was deeply personalized, thanks to their creativity and ingenuity. Both engineers, they incorporated surprise elements into the wedding that involved crowd-participation mechanics – including Aaron’s own invention. The highlight of the day was their emotional and colorful ceremony-in-the-round, with all their guests in 2 concentric circles around Aaron’s hand-built, fully operational lamp post. At the bottom of the post were Baltimore rats, cut from steel, with tails in a hook shape. Each guest was given a long ribbon with a grommet at the end, and they were instructed to attach their ribbon to a rat tail and extend their ribbon. On the count of 3, all the guests simultaneously pulled their ribbon, tilting their rat, and triggering a mechanism to make the ring of rats rise to the top of the lamp post, as the ribbons followed. The couple entered the circle from opposite sides, meeting in the middle under their most unique ribbon-topped chuppah. Check out all the photos for more personal touches from this wedding.
